Mullen's History
Robert and Evelyn Mullen, married in 1950 had 4 children; Linda, Richard, Michael, and John. In March 27, 1957 they opened a mechanic's shop and gas station on South River Road in West Lafayette. This eventually became the site of the tow yard and office when they were given a tow truck. Thus began R.W. Mullen's, now Mullen Towing. Bob and Evelyn's were stars in the Indiana towing industry. Over the years Bob became a visionary of how to improve the towing industry and began inventing add-ons for his trucks. He would take these ideas and inventions to ITWA (Indiana Towing and Wrecker Association) functions and they would incorporate them into the new models. Evelyn manned the phones and took care of the office work in the beginning; later hiring her sister-in-law, Shirley Robson, and her daughter, Linda. Linda is now owner of Mullen Towing, continues to provide a Towing service for all types of vehicles and equipment.
