Mullen Towing & Recovery - Lafayette Indiana

Mullen Towing & Recovery has always been located in the Lafayette, Indiana area. We have been family-owned and managed for over 52 years. We specialize in the towing and recovery of vehicle from mopeds to semi trucks. Our black one tons are easily recognized by their red, orange, and yellow stripes. The trucks come equiped with a hydraulic boom, wheel lift , sling, dolly system, go jaks, chains, straps, trash bucket, broom, and shovel. We have flatbeds, a medium duty, single axle, and tandem axle trucks fully equipped as well.

We were given the Gold Star Award by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for 5 years without a complaint. This is an achievement we are very proud of. The State of Indiana also honored us with a Recognition Award for being in business for 50 years. The State Legislature also presented a plaque acknowledging this milestone.

We love a challenge. A visit to our Gallery page will give you samples of some of the interesting predicaments drivers have found themselves in. Even though, we love the challenge, do be careful but call us if you do something interesting.

Mullen's History

Robert and Evelyn Mullen, married in 1950 had 4 children; Linda, Richard, Michael, and John. In March 27, 1957 they opened a mechanic's shop and gas station on South River Road in West Lafayette. This eventually became the site of the tow yard and office when they were given a tow truck. Thus began R.W. Mullen's, now Mullen Towing. Bob and Evelyn's were stars in the Indiana towing industry. Over the years Bob became a visionary of how to improve the towing industry and began inventing add-ons for his trucks. He would take these ideas and inventions to ITWA (Indiana Towing and Wrecker Association) functions and they would incorporate them into the new models. Evelyn manned the phones and took care of the office work in the beginning; later hiring her sister-in-law, Shirley Robson, and her daughter, Linda. Linda is now owner of Mullen Towing,  continues to provide a Towing service for all types of vehicles and equipment.
