Mullen Towing & Recovery - Lafayette Indiana

Mullen Towing & Recovery has always been located in the Lafayette, Indiana area. We have been family-owned and managed for over 54 years. We specialize in the towing and recovery of vehicle from mopeds to semi trucks. Our black one tons are easily recognized by their red, orange, and yellow stripes. The trucks come equiped with a hydraulic boom, wheel lift , sling, dolly system, go jaks, chains, straps, trash bucket, broom, and shovel. We have flatbeds, a medium duty, single axle, and tandem axle trucks fully equipped as well.

We were given the Gold Star Award by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for 5 years without a complaint. This is an achievement we are very proud of. The State of Indiana also honored us with a Recognition Award for being in business for 50 years. The State Legislature also presented a plaque acknowledging this milestone.

We love a challenge. A visit to our Gallery page will give you samples of some of the interesting predicaments drivers have found themselves in. Even though, we love the challenge, do be careful but call us if you do something interesting.

Mullen's History

Robert and Evelyn Mullen, married in 1950 had 4 children; Linda, Richard, Michael, and John. In March 27, 1957 they opened a mechanic's shop and gas station.  Over the years, there were several gas stations.  As the need for towing companies grew, the company switched to primarily towing.  A building was built at 230 South River Road in West Lafayette. Then the mechanical works was discontinued.  The fleet out grew the building.  The storage lot and office remained while the fleet maintenance was moved to First Street in Lafayette.  They were founding members of the Indiana Towing & Wrecker Association.  They worked tirelessly to improve the towing industry, even inventing equipment ideas.  The boys joined the company when they became of age.   Linda stayed home and ran the house in Mom's absence.  Robert died Oct. 1992, and Evelyn took the reins.  Linda finally joined the business July 10, 1981.  Evelyn died Nov. 2001 and Richard died  Jan 2, 2011.  Both Mike and John left the business so Linda is the owner of Mullen Towing. She strives to "Solve Problems with Tow Trucks, so what's your problem."
